In this video, we will be comparing all the aspects of Ubuntu 18.04 and Manjaro Linux, side by side and in-depth.
This video will help you pick the most suitable Linux distro for you.

Love it or hate it, Ubuntu has always been one of the top Linux distros and my personal favorite. But recently, another long-time Linux distro has been climbing the distro rank list. Yes, I AM speaking about Manjaro Linux.

Manjaro has not suddenly jumped into the spotlight but it has gotten there steadily and consistently. I mean it is polished, fast and it is supposed to be more dependable than Arch Linux. It’s just better than ever.

So is Manjaro the new go-to Linux distro? More importantly Is it better than Ubuntu? Let’s find out.

My cusin had a laptop that school gave it to him 7 years ago. It was working fine with windows 7 but he was using It to watch videos or movies, windows 7 is a good os but pc was already too slow and could not even run simple oldest games. After a few minutes It used to start fan to make/keep cpu cool. Simply the pc is trash. I have tried too many gnu/linux os on it. None of them was lightweigh and stable enough to run cool. I have tried lubuntu, xubuntu, kde-neon, kubuntu, zorin lite, etc…
A few days ago I installed manjaro xfce on it, It runs very cool and stable. The store of manjaro is full of apps that I am not able to find them directly on ubuntu's app store. I love ubuntu and the system that based on It. (I am even using elementary os on my personal laptop. It is based on ubuntu LTS, I love It) simply manjaro is really good. I would deffinitly switch to It , If they would have a UI like Elementary OS.

what I love about Manjaro is that it always has latest version of software, good GUI and DE support, performance,…
But manjaro cannot beats Ubuntu in one thing: officially support – any linux software have official release/guideline for Ubuntu, any problem you face when using ubuntu, pretty much someone already did/resolved. AUR is good, but it cannot help me install something like vmware workstation!

I don't know why but I always prefer my Arch linux. I switched to it directly from windows and it didn't make sense at first but after one week of installing I came to know what it really is using Linux. Your mints and ubuntus and fedoras all don't teach you much. Arch lets you know that its your computer and you choose what you want to do

Linux distros is where you start of. Like building a sim plan. Except the distros are the base plan.

A case of "your mileage may vary." I was a long-time Ubuntu user from 15.10-18.04. I8.04 introduced so many changes and so much slowness into the system. Even on an SSD Ubuntu was taking about 30 seconds to go from boot to login. Manjaro? About 10. Everything seems much crisper and more responsive. I feel like I'm seeing much more of the benefit to having an SSD! 🙂

Does Manjaro Xfce allow for showing/hiding a terminal session with a single key command like the f12 key? I'm using Ubuntu 19.04 Mate because of old hardware and I can hit f12 key to show/hide a running terminal session. I love that for my workflow!

I switched from Ubuntu to Manjaro. At first, had a few problems with automatic partitioning while installing Manjaro, so i did it manually. It worked. Now, using manjaro cinnamon desktop it is much faster and responsive than gnome from Ubuntu. What I also like about Manjaro stable version, all software is up to date with cutting edge performance, even tried playing CS GO using Lenovo thinkpad x230, and didnt notice any difference between ubuntu and manjaro when comes to gaming performance on the same hardware and graphical settings.
Personally, both distros are great. But for linux beginners, I'd rather recommend starting from Linux Mint. Still, Manjaro now is my daily operating Linux being a student. Great video, very informative and helped me with the idea of trying manjaro. Keep it up man, awesome channel and content.
