I had Mint Mate 18.3 on my computer. I upgraded to Mate 19.1. My Epson V600 scanner was no longer recognized. The Epson script file worked on 18.3 for reflective copy but not on 19.x. I've been referred to other third party software but they always point back to the Epson script file that doesn't work. Of course I can use windows but I want to build a new Ryzen linux system and not buy a copy of Windows. Any ideas other than going back to 18.3 which worked fine for me?

Could someone please tell me how to uninstall device drivers in Linux Mint? (In Windows, all I have to do is go to Device Manager. All of the hardware devices are listed there. I right click on the device and choose 'uninstall'. I don't see anything like this in Mint.) Thank you!!

Question. You talk about trying Mint on the live media before installing it. Is it representative of what will work on your machine? In other words, can I use live media as a reliable way to see what will work in the full installation? For example, if I can connect to Wi-Fi on the live media, does this mean I can count on Wi-Fi working in the full installation?

The 32 bit version runs beautifully on an upgraded 2006 Mac mini.

After two weeks of setting up Linux Mint 19.3 to my liking I decided to uninstall some programs i didn't want. Well, bad move, now I can't log in – getting a cinnamon error. Not sure why removing something called Redlight and an onscreen keyboard messed things up, but not wasting my time installing again and starting over.

Will this OS work for a netbook? I have a netbook with Windows XP on it and nothing works. No Box, no Dropbox, no Google Chrome!

When they dumbed down to 19.3 I left them and now have found the best. here I even made a video of it. First part on installation is not so good as it would not work in Virtualbox.

I have made the sixth video for Youtube. this was my sixth and I think it is my best on MakuluLinux which is the best operating system I have found.
It is how to install and has tutorials on slide show, Gimp, Thunderbird, Libreoffice where I show how to write in Chinese, It also shows how to make websites and uses Filezilla. Please check it out at https://youtu.be/jcWOFIMEL7s please subscribe and comment. Thanks.

Hi Chris. When trying to install ms fonts, I get to the 'accept licence terms' stage, scroll to the bottom, nothing happens, 'OK' doesn't turn red. tried clicking, double clicking, right clicking it (turns black). What have I missed? Thanks.

Its your fault I just installed Linux Mint 19 and having a blast with it. A Guy I work with said he bought a new Laptop and he had problems with his old one. I asked what he was going to do with it, he said he planed to throw it out. Ask if I could have it. He gave me 2 laptops. The 1st won I upped the memory replaced the HD installed Mint on it. Its works great. The other one replaced the the cracked screen for $60 USD but there is more issues with it.

Good video as always, but a serious question – what does the OS do?

All this talk about customization – honestly, who cares?

Generally, you start your applications to do stuff, right?

IMHO, it is always the available application and the quality, compatibility and stability of the applications that is the most important.

I don't care if I can make my task bar wider or narrower, why would I waste time with that?

2GB of RAM is ok for the Mate & XFCE DE’s. However, i’d say U need AT LEAST 4GB to run Cinnamon ‘Comfortably.’ If u can manage 8GB then, all the better.

I've watched a couple of videos explaining Linux mint but this one is the only one that's straight to the point. Explained what Linux mint is, how to get it, what it can do and how to do it in less than 30 mins. Very well done

Watching this video from a Dell Latitude E4300, while running Linux Mint 19.3 Cinnamon as a live system from USB.
The laptop has got 2 Gb of RAM and it works rather well with Windows 7. I am very happy with the way Linux Mint is running on this computer. I will most probably install this system on my other newer notebook, a Dell Inspiron 3000 series, convertable, which often struggles with Windows 10, although it has got ONLY 4 Gb of RAM.
I will try to debloat windows 10 and remove some junk. However, I do not fancy Windows 10 that much. Windows 7 is so much better. I wish I had an updated version of Windows 98 SE with all the drivers to use it on one of the laptops 🙂
My intention is to mostly get online using a Linux computer.

I have to say that Linux Mint has quite exceeded my expectations.
