Emmet is an incredibly powerful tool that allows me to write HTML and CSS at least twice as fast as I could before. Emmet is full of snippets for HTML and CSS which allow you to write a small line of code that will generate a bunch of HTML or CSS based on the Emmet code you wrote. It is built into VSCode and is something that you have most likely used without even realizing it. In this video I go in depth into how you can use Emmet and all the different snippets and syntax that you need to know.

Strange on my laptop I have to hit tab for the shortcut to convert to a completed line of code. 'Enter' doesn't work.

Great video, always wondered what you used for the quick snippets. e.g. "script", "link" etc. Thanks!

Hello Kyle, thanks a lot for the video, amazingly short and to the point as usual!
question: what software are you using to record and edit your video?

ummm emmet is great but some of the examples you demonstrated are just default vscode behaviour… also, html isn't code its markup.

If I might make a suggestion, you should invest in better audio equipment. GREAT video and I appreciate the info but the audio was breaking the immersion.

Wouldn't a browser read a html structure faster in emmet style than the current model?

Just wondering, since 1 line in emmet can write 20+ in html structure.

First of all I didnt even know of class and id stacking, and then you had attributes too? Why am I not using this a lot. This legit would save me 30 mins to an hour for creating new HTML, CSS, and JS projects

Great intro to emmet. Do you know how to customize the HTML boilerplate? I can't find any emmet settings for that.
