Last, Lastb and Lastlog : How to show latest user login in Linux.
Linux/Unix last, lastb and lastlog commands provide User’s login and logout timings. This helps to find out who recently used system, this further helps to relate things happened on system with their timings.
last searches back through the file /var/log/wtmp (or the file designated by the -f flag) and displays a list of all users logged in (and out) since that file was created.
lastb is the same as last, except that by default it shows a log of the file /var/log/btmp, which contains all the bad login attempts.
the lastlog command, determines the last login date for everyone on your system and prepare a list of those accounts that have never logged in at all.
