In this video, we are taking a look at some commands that can be used to check up the partitions on your system. The commands would check what partitions there are on each disk and other details like the total size, used up space and file system etc.
1. fdisk -l = it shows the partitions of my hard disk ,
2. sfdisk -l = same as fdisk it can display partation in mega bytes
3. cfdisk = it is linux partitions manager with a simple user interface
4. parted -l = it is also a partitions manager have cli and gui form
5.df -h = it is not a partitioning utility but prints out details about only mounted file system
6. lsblk = list out all the storage blocks

In the monitoring system called Probeturion, there is a sensor called SSH. Using the SSH sensor, you can automate this script and read the results and interpretate as you like. Highly recommended. After I discovered the power of the SSH sensor in Probeturion, I am constantly looking for new scripts to implement that can further automate the processes in our organization. Thank you for this iThd.

With Probeturion, it is possible to run all these commands in regular intervals. Then, Probeturion can interpret them as you like and send alerts if there is something wrong (for example if the disk Space is under a certain threshold). It is free for until 3 sensors. You can try it at https://www.probeturion.com
